The tall ship Thalassa offers a variety of cruises along the Scottish coastline, including Whisky Cruises and Walking Cruises. This cruise is a combination of beautiful sailing and whisky tasting.

This is an excellent opportunity, a real sailing trip starting from the beautiful harbour town of Oban with its rich history. Depending on the wind and tide, we will sail along the rugged coasts of the various Scottish islands and peninsulas. Sights include Mull, Ardnamurchan, Skye and Rum. The history of the Hebrides goes back millions of years. Since then time has sculpted the landscape, its history can be seen in the lava formations, local vegetation and buildings.

By sailing just a little more our guests can enjoy the surroundings to the full. Be accompanied by the sea birds that follow the ship. And if you want to try your hand at sailing, help the crew with the sails.
Once ashore, you can take a scenic walk or visit one of the distilleries along the route such as Tobermory, Talisker, Ardnamurchan and Torabhaig. Sightseeing by taxi is also an option: a local taxi driver will be happy to show visitors around the area. This can provide some of the most memorable experiences.

In a nutshell, this tour offers a nice balance of everything this region of Scotland has to offer.

Our whiskyguide is on hand to help guests along the way. He can tell you all about the background of the different whiskies, how they are made and why you taste what you taste. There is plenty of time on board to discuss personal tasts and preferences.

Our guide is also well versed in Scotland's history and will be happy to point you in the direction of local walks or visits to castles and other historic sites.
Evenings on board are a great time to share experiences and make plans for the next day. Meanwhile, enjoy a delicious drink from our well-stocked (whisky) bar.

At the end of the week we dock again in Oban. Enhanced by your experiences on board Thalassa, you may wish to stay a little longer. Oban is perfect for a few extra days of holiday, a stroll along the boulevard, a tasting at the local Oban distillery or a visit to one of its museums.
