Travel programme

Our trips are determined by wind and weather but of course we have plans that we are committed to. We provide each trip with a comfortable and adventurous programme. whereby Scotland and its distilleries can be explored by foot, by car or by public transport.

There is a variety of foods and drinks on board  of Thalassa, she is known for her excellent cuisine and unique whisky bar on board. The creativity of our chef on board certainly doesn't stop at the brown beans of the famous Captain's dinner.

Trip objectives:

A wonderful voyage of discovery to special Scottish islands and its distilleries begins in the picturesque fishing town of Ullapool where the distilleries of Ardnamurchan and Tobermory  can be visited. The same applies to Talisker on Skye and Rasaay, located not far from Skye.

Rasaay, situated in the Inner Hebrides is famous for its pipers and the song "Mrs MacLeod of Raasay".Here we find Isle of Raaasay distillery: every drop of whisky and/or gin is distilled, matured and bottled on this island with water from the Raasay Distillery spring.

Also on our wish list for this trip is Harris distillery in Tarbert (the largest town on Harris Island) where the work of local men and women of this island blends with products of local nature, resulting in an Outer Hebridean whisky of stature.

Via Loch Harport, the ship sails to Carbost where we find the famous Talisker distillery. Talisker is the oldest operating distillery in Skye, this is where world-famous whiskies are created, shaped by the sea.

Rum, the island also called nature's playground, study material for universities and nature agencies. Wild goats and Rum ponies have been present on the island for centuries. Alternative to Rum during this trip is Mallaig (wind and weather permitting), a fascinating place where we can taste the atmosphere of a working fishing port. At the same time, Mallaig's remote location makes it a great place to relax and take beautiful walks (Mallaig Circuit ) with great views over the harbour and Loch Nevis.

If possible, Ardnamurchan distillery will be visited. Only a few years old, the distillery combines a mix of new technology with a strong emphasis on sympathy and respect for the local environment. There is little waste and the staff at this distillery take great pride in working with the local community.

Thalassa also sails to Tobermory, Isle of Mull, Scotland's third largest island. Tobermory is the largest town on the island, situated in the north-east and defined by brightly coloured houses right on the waterfront and many small shops with an artisanal character (chocolaterie,

The final destination of this trip is Oban. Oban is an accessible place, easy to explore on foot with many small galleries and independent shops to browse around.

Wind and weather conditions apply to all parts of this programme.
