Travel Programme
Saturday September 4th: Guests embark at 2pm in Troon harbour. At 15.00 hrs the ship leaves for the next destination: Arran where the ship will anchor.
Arran, or ”Scotland in miniature”. An island of 35 km length and 16 km width. A beautiful rolling landscape that is ideal for long walks. On Arran you will find pretty villages, old castles (Brodick castle), prehistoric standing stones (Machrie) and a fantastic range of culinary delights (follow the Taste Trail), history and culture.
Sunday September 5th: on Sunday the ship sails to Ballycastle where on Monday morning it is possible to visit Giant Causeway on the Irish coast. This rock formation consists of some 40,000 basalt columns and has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1986. Giant Causeway is thought to have been created by a volcanic eruption some 60 million years ago.
Monday September 6th: in the afternoon the ship sails to Londonderry.
Tuesday, September 7th: a day in Londonderry. After arriving in Londonderry, you can decide to take a walk on the "Walls of Londonderry" (the still well preserved city walls) or to explore the city on your own.
Wednesday September 8th: sailing to Port Ellen (Islay). Islay is famous for its whisky distilleries (amongst others Springbank Distillery, Laphroaig) but also its beautiful sandy beaches, high cliffs, nature reserves will not disappoint you as a visitor. A perfect place to relax and enjoy its beautiful flora and fauna.
Thursday September 9th: On Thursday, guests can visit the distilleries on Islay in the morning, and in the afternoon the ship leaves for Campbeltown.
Friday September 10th: Guests are free to explore Campbeltown on their own or visit the world-famous Springbank distillery. At the end of the day, the ship departs for a crossing to the final destination of this trip: Troon
Saturday September 11th: In Troon guests disembark around 10.00 am.
