Programme

We will board the Barquentine Thalassa on Monday 19 June at 2000 hours in Le Havre (easily reachable by train). We leave Le Havre, crossing the Channel to the Solent, where we will anchor in Osborne Bay across from the summer palace of Empress Victoria. In the evening weather permitting there is time to visit Cowes.

On 22 June we will continue west in the Solent and we will pass the Needles, the beautiful rocks at the western tip of Wight, to anchor near Swanage, just north of Peveril Point. We then sail south to Alderney, the most charming of the Channel Islands, anchoring in the harbour of St Anne.

The next day we have the opportunity to visit the island by foot or by bike and of course the pubs. Alderney has beautiful beaches and an imposing 19th century fortress, Fort Clonque.

We continue south the next day into the bay of Mont Michel turning to starboard to anchor in the roads of St Malo.

Please note: Depending on the wind the sequence of the described events can be altered.
