Scotland is a whisky lover’s paradise and there is no finer way to explore the country’s whisky-producing islands than on board of Thalassa. Visit the world-famous Islay Festival of Music and Malt, join our whisky ambassador for a tour to the best fine malt coastal distilleries and explore the magical islands by foot or by bike. In the evenings, relax and enjoy the company of fellow whisky enthusiasts as you savour your favourite whisky from our well-stocked whisky bar on board. WHISKY SAILING CRUISES 2019

Whisky sailing cruise 1  May 18 - May 25

Start: Oban, Scotland, 14.00, Saturday May 18, 2019
End: Troon, Scotland, 10.00, Saturday May 25, 2019

Price: € 1,200 p.p.
Price is based on the division of 2 persons into a double cabin. If you want to book the cabin for 1 person, the travel sum is € 1.700, -.  

The travel sum is inclusive:
- 7 overnight stays on board in a double cabin with private shower;
- all meals during the trip (breakfast, lunch and dinner);
- Non-alcoholic drinks with meals (coffee, tea, milk and water);
- 1 whiskytasting on board, accompanied by a whiskey expert.

Not included:
- all other non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks (beer, wine and whisky);
- entry tickets for visits to the various distilleries;
- Extra excursions ashore. The costs for the different excursions amount to approx. € 100, - per person in total (participation is not mandatory).

The sailing voyage begins and ends in Scotland. You are responsible for arranging your own travel to Scotland. This is NOT included in the price

Oban – Mull (Tobermory)  - Jura – Islay (Port Ellen) –  Ballycastle –Campbeltown - Troon

Day 1 - Saturday - Visit distillery Oban on your own before embarkation, embarkation at 16h00 at the latest, departure to Mull, arrival in Mull –Tobermory at the beginning of the evening,                                               Overnight stay Tobermory

Day 2 - Sunday - Visit distilleries Tobermory en Ardnamurcham, departure to Jura, overnight stay bay Isle of Jura

Day 3 - Monday - Visit Jura distillery, afterwards to Port Ellen, overnight stay Port Ellen                                                          

Day 4 - Tuesday - Visit distilleries Islay. Choose from Laphroaig, Lagavulin, Ardbeg,Bowmore,CaolIla,Bunnhabhain,Bruichladdich,Kilchoman, overnight stay Port Ellen

Day 5 - Wednesday - Visit distilleries Islay, 13h00 departure to Ballycastle, overnight stay Ballycastle

Or:   Departure to Ballycastle early in the morning, 13h00 arrival Ballycastle, visit Giant Causeway and/or Bushmills distillery, overnight stay Ballycastle

Day 6 - Thursday - Visit Giant Causeway and/or Bushmills distillery, 13h00 departure to Campbeltown, overnight stay  Campbeltown

Or: Departure to Campbeltown, visit Whisky Festival Springbank and GlenScotia, overnight stay Campbeltown

End: Troon, Scotland, 10.00, Saturday June 1, 2019

Price: € 1,299 p.p.

Day 1 - Saturday - From 14:00 you can embark in the harbour of Troon on board of the Thalassa. After you have been introduced to the ship, the crew and the other guests, the ship leaves around 17.00 in the direction of Islay. At night we arrive in the harbour of Bruichladdich.

Day 2 - Sunday - Bruichladdich - Port Ellen 

Day 3 - Monday - Port Ellen

Day 4 - Tuesday - Port Ellen - Jura

Day 5 - Wednesday - Jura - Ballycastle

Day 6 - Thursday - Giant Causeway/Ballycastle - Campbelltown

Day 7 - Friday - Arran- Troon

Day 8 - Saturday - between 6 a.m. and 10 a.m. the guests disembark in Troon.

 

Whisky sailing expedition July 27 - August 7 2019 € 1.750 p.p.

Start: Invergordon, Scotland, 14.00, Saturday July 27, 2019
End: Troon, Scotland, 10.00, Wednesday August 7, 2019

TRAVEL PROGRAMME

Day 1 - Saturday - From 14:00 you can embark in the port of Invergordon on board the Thalassa. After you have been introduced to the ship, the crew and the other guests, the ship leaves around 17.00 in the direction of Wick. At night we arrive in this harbour.

Day 2 - Sunday - Visit the Pulteney Distillery and then head for Scrabster.

Day 3 - Monday - Visit the Wolfburn Distillery followed by a boat trip to Stronoway on the Isle of Lewis.

Day 4 - Tuesday - Bus tour of Isle of Lewis (Dun Carloway Broch, Callanish Standing Stones, Abhainn Dearg Distillery),

Day 5 - Wednesday - Crossing to Tarbert with a visit to the Harris Distillery after that we set course for Carbost (Talisker/Isle of Skye).

Day 6 - Thursday - Coast tour of Isle of Sky (Talisker Distillery, Dunvegan Castle, Old Man of Storr, lunch at Sligachan Bar with 500 Whiskies)

Day 7 - Friday - Crossing to Toberney

Day 8 - Saturday - Visit the Toberney Distillery, then continue to Oban

Day 9 - Sunday - Visit to the Oban Distillery followed by a trip to Craighouse (Isle of Jura).

Day 10 - Monday - Visit the Jura distillery and then head for Campbeltown.

Day 11 - Tuesday - Visit to the Spark Distillery, followed by a crossing to Troon.

Day 12 - Wednesday - between 6 a.m. and 10 a.m. the guests disembark in Troon..
