Mile builders are an affordable way to join a passage aboard three-master Thalassa. This is a proper offshore passage-making experience and non-stop navigation, night sails and long distances are the order of the day. Be prepared to participate in the watch, hoist and trim the sails and help maintain the ship as an integral part of the crew. You don´t need any previous sailing experience – the professional and experienced crew will teach you everything you need to know – but any experience you do have will be put to very good use. Sailing is always hungry business and we understand the need for good, hearty food on board. This Thalassa delivery voyage begins in Hamburg, Germany on Sunday, May 12, 2019. After embarkation, a warm welcome from the Skipper, allocation of the watch and safety instructions from the crew, you will immediately set sail for the North Sea. The week-long crossing will take you through the German Bight, over the North Sea and along Scotland’s beautiful coastline to arrive in Oban, pearl of the Western Highlands on May, 18, 2019.

Mile builder passage 3
On Monday 2 September you will board at 14.00 hours in the harbour of Invergordon, Scotland. That same afternoon we will leave for Cromarty (approx. 1 hour sailing). Cromarty, situated on the Black Isle at the mouth of the Cromarty Firth, is the best preserved historical city of the Highlands. But Cromarty is more than just an 18th century town; it also offers sandy beaches, unusual architecture, restaurants, a beautiful landscape, nature and bird sanctuaries of international importance, to name but a few. The ship anchors here for the night. The next day we leave for Helgoland, where we arrive on Friday morning. Helgoland is an oasis of peace. No other island in the world can stand a comparison with this special natural monument. What people on the mainland can only dream of, becomes reality on Heligoland. Blue skies, sunny days and the warm gulf stream that creates a unique climate. Helgoland is the island with a unique and beautiful flora and fauna and definitely worth a visit!
On Saturday we sail towards Husum where we arrive on Sunday. Husum, the charming port city on the North Sea has much to offer its guests: an old town with narrow streets and atmospheric alleys, beautiful houses with old high facades and attractive shopping opportunities. After a good night's sleep, the guests leave the ship on Monday morning.
